People vote for the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) because they believe in the party's ideas and principles. They did not vote for the MRF because of Delyan Peevski, said Sunday MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk, deputy chairman of the MRF and co-chairman of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats, on bTV.

If a new party emerges with Delyan Peevski at its head, it will have its way and will seek voters, Kyuchuk believes.

Asked what happened in the relations between Dogan and Peevski, he said that he has been part of the MRF for 20 years and has listened many times to "those polished politicians like Iskra Mihaylova". "I know what happened, yes, because including my colleagues, who undoubtedly have their capacity and belonging to the MRF, whether they have political backbone we will find out very soon,

Kyuchyuk described his relations with Peevski in the past months as "at times very fruitful and good, because the intentions were to make a serious party with a strong ideological basis that would continue the ideas of Dogan".

Asked whether there was an attempt by Peevski to put Dogan in dependence, Kyuchuk said that as far as he knows Dogan, he would not put himself in dependence from which he cannot free himself.

Kyuchyuk said that the MRF will go by its statute, and there is an internal party debate. Dogan, as honorary chairman, is within his powers. He does not give instructions, he calls. “Let us read the lines written by him as such a call. What the decisions will be is a matter of political decision,” Ilhan Kyuchyuk said.
