NGO Official, Former State Agency for National Security Employee Released on Bail after Being Charged with Disclosing State Secrets

The chairperson of the Plovdiv chapter of the National Russophile Movement, Zlatomir Dyovlensky, and former State Agency for National Security official Ivan Galabov, who have been charged with disclosing state secrets, were released on bail of BGN 5,000 on Tuesday, the Plovdiv District Prosecution Office said. The two have also been banned from leaving the country.

Dyovlensky and Galabov were detained on Monday in an operation conducted by the Plovdiv Territorial Directorate of National Security in cooperation with the Plovdiv District Prosecution Office and spent 24 hours in custody.

If found guilty, the two could face a sentence of two to eight years in prison.
