In a declaration on the first day of work of the new Parliament, Vazrazhdane said that MPs must "win back" Bulgarian people after a record-low turnout in the June 9 elections.

Party leader Kostadin Kostadinov said that "only 10 days ago 70% of Bulgarian people chose to stay at home on election day which was essentially a vote of no-confidence in their own State". "These people did not see anybody worthy of their trust," he added.

He said further, "For the majority in Parliament, it does not matter much who are the people who gave this no-confidence vote. But the majority are surely thankful, dear Bulgarian people, because the low turnout cemented them in their soft chairs in Parliament."

He argued, though, that MPs have a responsibility to do their best for Bulgarian people "because they have not stopped looking for meaning to support their representatives".  He "naively believes that this is possible even in this Parliament". "It is not that difficult to end corruption. Thefts can be stopped and good specialists can be brought back to the country. We can preserve the traditions of Bulgarian education."

Vazrazhdane "wants retribution for those who brought Bulgarian people to a critical absence of interest in the future of their own country," said Kostadinov.
