site.btaDraft Agreement with Cyprus's Radiation and Control Services Approved

Bulgaria's Council of Ministers on Wednesday adopted a decision to approve a draft agreement between Bulgaria's Nuclear Regulatory Agency and the Radiation and Control Services at the Department of Labour Inspection of Cyprus's Ministry for Labour and Social Insurance on operational notification in the event of nuclear accident and cooperation in nuclear safety and radiation protection regulation, the Government Information Service said. 

Cyprus initiated the signing of the agreement with a view to deepening partnership between the two regulatory authorities in fields specific to nuclear regulation.

The draft agreement envisages the exchange of information in the event of an accident, bilateral cooperation and information exchange on regulation matters in the sphere of the safe use of nuclear energy, sources of ionizing radiation and nuclear applications.
