site.btaCC Co-leader Petkov: GERB and Movement for Rights and Freedoms Are in Informal Coalition, Will Run the Country Together
Continue the Change co-leader Kiril Petkov said here Tuesday that GERB and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) are in an unofficial coalition and will be running the country together. He urged GERB to admit that they have paired up with MRF. "All Bulgarian people have seen you vote together on all motions in the plenary hall of Parliament," he said.
He attacked GERB leader Boyko Borissov for distancing himself from the 2023 revisions in the Constitution, which were adopted on the votes of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, GERB and MRF.
"One cannot say they did not know what the Constitution says, when they are the biggest political party in Parliament and ask the MPs of this party to vote for the revisions. It is time people took responsibility for their actions," said Petkov.
Earlier on Tuesday, Borissov said in the corridors of Parliament that he was not part of the talks on the constitutional revisions.
Also, Borissov was adamant that there won't be a government only of GERB and MRF after the elections even if the two parties have a majority in the 240-seat Parliament.
