The Council of Ministers Wednesday adopted a decision approving the opening of a Consulate of the Republic of Colombia in Bulgaria, headed by an honorary consular official, with its seat in Sofia and a consular district covering the territory of this country. Bulgarian Teodor Totev was appointed honorary consular official of Colombia in Bulgaria, the government information service said.

Bulgaria attaches great importance to the bilateral relations with Colombia and views opportunities for their future development in all areas of mutual interest in a favourable light. The opening of a consulate of Colombia in Bulgaria, headed by an honorary consular official, creates additional prerequisites for positive results in the pursuit of deepening bilateral relations with the Colombian side.
