site.btaPresident's Press Centre: Cabinet Lineup Proposal Is Prime Minister-designate's Responsibility

Responding to queries whether President Rumen Radev would heed the call of the Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria to withdraw his decree proposing to Parliament to elect GERB-UDF's Prime Minister-Designate Mariya Gabriel, Radev’s press centre said that in line with the Constitution, when an exploratory cabinet-forming mandate has been received, the President issues a decree proposing that the National Assembly elect as Prime Minister the candidate put forward by the parliamentary group he mandated. 

The President's decree has no bearing on either the structure or the composition of the Council of Ministers, and it is the Prime Minister-designate who is responsible for the proposal.
