Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) Co-floor Leader Kiril Petkov urged Friday GERB leader Boyko Borissov to attend the official meeting between the two political forces on Saturday if he wants to negotiate a cabinet headed by outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel.

Earlier during the day, Borissov said that his party and CC-DB have agreed to begin negotiations on Saturday at 6 pm. Asked whether he would attend the talks, he stated that he was "touched by the CC-DB's invitations, but his understanding is that the prime minister should lead the negotiations for a cabinet she can lead."

"What I want to give as advice to Mr Borissov is that if he wants to negotiate, he should come to the meeting tomorrow and we can talk about all these issues. If he wants to delegate [the talks] to Mariya Gabriel – he should do it. We understand that, we will be happy to talk to her tomorrow too, but this idea of delegating and negotiating through the cameras at the same time is absurd," Petkov told journalists in Parliament. Stop giving epithets, Petkov warned.
