Bulgarian President Rumen Radev Friday met with King Abdullah II of Jordan in Dubai after the opening of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), Radev's Press Secretariat said.

King Abdullah II accepted Radev's invitation to visit Bulgaria in 2024 for a further deepening of bilateral cooperation, as well as to continue talks in search of approaches to restore peace and ensure stability in the Middle East.

The two discussed the consequences of the hostilities between Hamas and Israel.

The heads of State concurred that the escalation of tensions affects not only the direct participants in the hostilities, but the entire Middle East and Europe. They voiced concern about the grave humanitarian crisis in the region, which calls for timely action by the international community. President Radev and King Abdullah II identified the cessation of hostilities and the resumption of negotiations on the establishment of two states in accordance with the UN resolutions as the most effective measure to achieve a lasting peaceful solution in the Middle East.
