Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov and Peter Halpern, Central Europe Anti-Corruption Resident Legal Advisor, opened a seminar on "Fighting Corruption, Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism", said the prosecution service press centre on Wednesday.

A total of 30 prosecutors, investigators and employees of the Anti-Corruption Commission are participating in the three-day forum.

The forum, organized by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the US Department of Justice is held at the educational base of the prosecution service in Batak.

Speakers from the US Justice Department’s Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training and the Federal Bureau of Investigation will introduce their Bulgarian colleagues to their practical experience in prosecuting organized criminal groups and uncovering corruption crimes. Countering money laundering and preventing acts of terrorism and cybercrime in the context of increased global security risks is also a part of the training.
