Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov attended a working dinner with European Council President Charles Michel and other Council members in Copenhagen on Tuesday, the Government Information Service said on its Facebook page Wednesday. The main topic of the discussion was the Strategic Agenda of the EU, which will be adopted in the summer of 2024.

The priority areas within the Strategic Agenda of the EU include security and defence, sustainability and competitiveness, energy , migration, global commitment, and enlargement. At this stage, the goal is to deepen the debate on these matters in the context of the changes that need to be made to achieve a union that is stronger both internally and on a global scale, the post reads.

The dinner was hosted by Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. It was part of a series of group discussions between EU Member State leaders on the EU's priorities for the next institutional cycle, aiming to find solutions that would ensure the EU's capacity to act and achieve its goals amid global challenges and subsequent EU enlargement. The events are hosted by Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen, and Zagreb.
