site.btaDefence Ministry Deploys Additional 50 Servicepersons to Protect Bulgarian-Turkish Border

By an order of the Minister of Defence Todor Tagarev, on the basis of the Republic of Bulgaria Defence and Armed Forces Act and a request from the Minister of Interior Kalin Stoyanov, an additional 50 servicepersons with six off-road vehicles from the Armed Forces will be deployed to assist the Ministry of Interior in the protection of the state border and to counter illegal entry of migrants into the country, from October 16, 2023, until November 8, 2023, the Ministry of Defence press service said here on Monday.

The Defence Ministry's participation in assisting the Interior Ministry in guarding the Bulgarian-Turkish border is comprised of some 430 servicepersons with 90 units of equipment.
