National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov will participate in a two-day European Conference of Presidents of Parliaments in Dublin on September 28 and 29, the parliamentary press centre reported. The forum, which is held every two years under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), is attended by heads, deputy heads of legislative institutions and parliamentarians from the member states of the Council of Europe and partner countries, observers, etc.

The main topics of the conference are the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine and the role of national parliaments in the reconstruction of Ukraine, challenges to representative democracy in unstable times, and equality and diversity in public representation - the participation of young people, women, ethnic and social groups as members of parliament.

Zhelyazkov will make a speech on the first main topic, related to the consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the role of the national parliaments in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
