The Council of Ministers moved to the National Assembly to ratify an agreement on the participation of Bulgaria in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Ukraine Country Programme. The Programme was officially announced during the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris on June 7-8, 2023. It is aimed at supporting Ukraine’s efforts in the reform process on the country's way to EU and OECD membership.

Under the agreement, Bulgaria is to make a EUR 60,000 voluntary financial contribution.

Bulgaria is consistent in its support for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders, as well as for its European perspective. Bulgaria’s inclusion in the OECD's Ukraine Country Programme reaffirms this country’s firm commitment to supporting the country's reconstruction and economic development. Closer engagement with OECD programmes and initiatives is in keeping with accession to the Organisation as one of Bulgaria's main foreign policy priorities.
