The government has allocated BGN 16 million to increase the minimum salary for the lowest academic position in state higher education institutions by 20%, from BGN 1,500 to 1,810, as of August 1, 2023.
The additional funds will be granted to 33 state universities with a total of 12,436 academic staff, including 2,401 assistant professors.
