site.btaCabinet Allocates BGN 36 Mln for Work with Vulnerable Children in Educational Institutions

The Council of Ministers decided to allocate BGN 36,078,916 for work with children and pupils from vulnerable groups in municipal schools and kindergartens.

Part of the funds will be allocated to 515 kindergartens with 40,016 children. The rest will be distributed to 1,079 schools with 168,985 pupils. The funds are earmarked for measures to support access to education and prevent the risk of pupils from vulnerable groups dropping out of the education system.

Expenditure can be for staff involved in the teams for enrolling and retaining children and pupils of compulsory pre-school and school age in the education system, for paying for additional Bulgarian language classes in schools and additional modules for children who do not speak Bulgarian in kindergartens, as well as for staff involved in measures to support access to education and the recruitment of social workers, educational mediators and teachers' aides.
