Bulgaria and the US are united by shared values, principles and a common vision for the future of the rules-based international order, wrote Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel on the social network X on Tuesday commemorating the 120th anniversary of the foundation of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“We stand together for the benefit of the people and our Euro-Atlantic relations,” she pointed out.
On September 5, Gabriel, Transport Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov and US Ambassador Kenneth Merten canceled a postage stamp dedicated to the anniversary. The stamp features the letter of credence, which was presented in 1903 to King Ferdinand by the first Minister Plenipotentiary of the US in Bulgaria, John Jackson and was signed by the American President Theodore Roosevelt.
