Vazrazhdane MP Deyan Nikolov described the actions to secure the Soviet Army Monument in Sofia as "subversive" and on the "edge of the law" during a press conference at the BTA National Press Club on Wednesday.
The press conference was on the occasion of the fencing off of the Monument by authorities on August 25 after a tent camp was set up there to protect it.
Nikolov said that there are two procedures - one is the dismantling of the monument and the other, in his words, is initiated " subversively" and is related to its securing with a fence.
He noted that the regional authorities have refused to provide information on the Order and the safety plan. He said that they had received information that a procedure was being prepared to survey the monument. Thus, Vazrazhdane indicated that there would be heavy presence of party supporters in the area of the monument on Wednesday and Thursday.
