Commissioner Miroslav Ivanov is the new director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Razgrad. By order of the Minister of Interior, he has been temporarily reappointed to the senior position of senior commissioner as of August 24, Iliana Georgieva, spokesperson of the directorate, said on Thursday.

Ivanov takes up the position after the current director, Senior Commissioner Diyan Minkov, was temporarily reassigned to the Support Unit for the Minister under the Ministry of Interior Act.

Miroslav Ivanov joined the Ministry of Interior in 1994 as an intelligence officer in the Criminal Police Sector at the Razgrad District Police Station. In 2009, he became chief of the Razgrad District Police Station. From 2010 to 2015 he held the position of head of the Bulgarian Identity Documents Sector. From 2015 to 2021, he was head of the Operational Analysis and Police Statistics Group in the Criminal Police Department at the Razgrad Regional Police Directorate. From 2021 until now he has been holding the post of deputy director of the Police Department of the Ministry of the Interior in Razgrad.

A few days ago there was also a turnover in the leadership of the Razgrad District Police Department, and Deyan Rusev was appointed its head.
