site.btaCabinet Adopts Draft Revisions to Defence and Armed Forces Act

The Council of Ministers adopted a Decision approving a draft law amending and supplementing the Republic of Bulgaria Defence and Armed Forces Act.

The amendments aim at: improving the efficiency of the Defence Council by optimizing its composition; providing guarantees for the compensation of all costs incurred by the Ministry of Defence for the training of enlisted personnel by making them liable for military service for a certain period; creating conditions for a more efficient staffing of the military formations of the Bulgarian armed forces; abolishing the requirement for annual evaluation of the military personnel.
