1877: Three-day Battle of Shipka begins, to become one of major highlights of 1877-78 Russo-Turkish War in which Bulgaria is liberated from nearly five centuries of Ottoman rule.

1924: First International Cycling Tour of Bulgaria starts.

1991: Grand National Assembly passes Supreme Judicial Council Act.

2007: 112 single emergency call system is introduced.
