site.btaPlovdiv Police Director Removed from Post by Order of Interior Minister

By order of Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, the Director of the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Plovdiv, Senior Commissioner Vasil Kostadinov, has been removed from his post, said the press centre of the directorate in the regional city on Thursday. Kostadinov was reassigned to another unit in the Interior Ministry system.

On Wednesday, the Minister demanded the resignation of Kostadinov and the head of the Regional Office in Stamboliyski, chief inspector Angel Kerpiev. The occasion was tension created in connection with the actions of the police after the murder of 24-year-old Dimitar Malinov in the Plovdiv village of Tsalapitsa, as well as gaps in the work so far.
