site.btaGovernment Grants Health Ministry Site for Construction of HEMS Operational Base at Former Targovishte Airport

A property located on part of the former Targovishte Airport (Northeast Bulgaria) was granted to the Health Ministry by the government on Wednesday. It will be used for the construction of an operational base for the needs of the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS).

Thus, the sites for the construction of operational bases for HEMS’ needs become three, after a previous decision of the government provided such at the Sofia and Plovdiv airports. This will ensure maximum efficiency and speed in providing emergency medical assistance by air. Funds for the construction of the bases have been provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
