site.btaFuture Gas Pipeline between Chiren and Bulgartransgaz Network to Become Facility of National Importance

The Council of Ministers adopted a decision to designate a project for the construction of a gas pipeline connecting the Chiren underground gas storage with the existing gas transmission network of Bulgartransgaz in the area of the village of Butan, as a facility of national importance.

The investment proposal is closely related to the goals of expanding the capacity of the Chiren facility. With the construction of the gas pipeline, a technical possibility will be created for extraction and injection of natural gas, corresponding to the increased capacities of the facility along a new route.

After the realization of the future route, the security of natural gas supplies to and from Chiren will increase, as it will be transported via another route.

With the decision of the Council of Ministers, the project will have a priority status at the national level and a number of reliefs will be achieved in carrying out the required procedures under the State Property Act, the Spatial Development Act, the Agricultural Land Conservation Act, and others.
