Parliament Debates Motion to Terminate Bulgaria-US Defence Cooperation Agreement

As the first item on the agenda of its plenary sitting on Wednesday, the National Assembly is debating a motion from Vazrazhdane on termination of the 2006 intergovernmental Agreement on Defence Cooperation between Bulgaria and the US, which provides for the joint use with the US Armed Forces of four military facilities in this country.

The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) have moved for a first-reading debate on amendments to the Tobacco and Tobacco and Related Products Act. BSP for Bulgaria has entered a motion for a first reading of Labour Code amendments concerning the amount of the minimum wage.

According to the weekly schedule of the legislature’s business, on Wednesday the MPs will also consider a motion proposed by MRF Floor Leader Mustafa Karadayi on the replacement of Gyuner Ahmed by Delyan Peevski as member of the parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Affairs.
