“We have become a country of wiretaps if all of this is true. The aim is to not form a [regular] government”, GERB leader Boyko Borissov told journalists in Parliament here on Friday, commenting on the words of Continue the Change (CC) co-chairperson Kiril Petkov that politicians from CC were wiretapped during working meetings in the party’s headquarters and in the National Assembly building. GERB-UDF and CC-DB are attempting to form a regular government on a rotating basis.

“Unauthorized recordings should not be commented on in any country based on the rule of law. Period," Borissov said, adding that he does not have any information on the subject.

GERB leader also said that he is concerned that he was questioned at the Sofia City Prosecution Office and the Supreme Cassation Prosecution Office at a time when his party is trying to form a regular government. On Thursday Borissov was questioned at the Sofia City Prosecution Office about a case known as "Barcelonagate" and the allegations against him for abuse of power.

"Same thing after four years. I will not comment – I was asked not to and I will not”, Borissov added.
