S.O.S. Romania has expelled three senators from its ranks - Dorin Petre, Nadia-Cosmina Cerva, and Clement Sava, party leader Diana Sosoaca said as quoted by Digi24.
The decision was made by the party’s National Committee, and the expelled senators are no longer allowed to use the party’s name.
With the number of senators now falling below the required minimum of seven, the S.O.S. Romania group in the Senate will be dissolved.
The party entered Parliament with 27 MPs and 11 senators, but has gradually lost key members dissatisfied with Sosoaca’s leadership, local media reported. Some of those who left later joined the group of the Social Democratic Party, while others joined the newly formed Romania First Alliance.
