Traffic is heavy for trucks exiting Bulgaria at the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo checkpoints on the border with Turkiye, the General Directorate Border Police said on Sunday.
At the Malko Tarnovo checkpoint, vehicles are passing through one lane due to reconstruction works.
Traffic is normal at all checkpoints along the borders with North Macedonia and Serbia.
Due to increased interest in travel via the Rudozem–Xanthi route to Greece, the Ministry of Interior reminded travellers that construction works are underway on the Greek side.
Only cars and vans up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed through checkpoints at Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad.
On January 8, repair works resumed on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse. Traffic is temporarily restricted to one lane.
