An exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the opening of the Danube Bridge between Ruse (Northeastern Bulgaria) and Giurgiu (Romania) was unveiled at the Lyuben Karavelov Regional Library on Thursday. Titled "Site 889", the exhibition features photographs, books, and press clippings from the library’s collection.

The exhibition was opened by Mayors Pencho Milkov of Ruse and Adrian Anghelescu of Giurgiu. They expressed hope that, with the joint efforts of Bulgaria and Romania, the construction of a new facility over the Danube River between the two cities will start soon.

The Danube Bridge at Ruse-Giurgiu was opened on June 20, 1954. Its construction started in 1952, and an overhaul of the Bulgarian section of the facility is scheduled to begin in July.
