Organizations of Disabled Persons Receive Funds from Charity Christmas Bazaar in Skopje

Funds raised at the charity Christmas diplomatic bazaar, held last December under the auspices of the EU delegation in North Macedonia, were used to buy household equipment for the centres for children and adults with disabilities in Skopje and Veles, said Emilia Avramcheva of the “Macedonia Welcome Centre" NGO. She spoked during a ceremony in Veles, attended by the ambassadors of the countries that participated in the bazaar.

A total of MKD 500,000 were and the largest amount was from the stand organized by the Bulgarian Embassy in North Macedonia – MKD 75,000. The money was distributed to three organizations of people with special needs. The Association of People with Cerebral Palsy and Other Disabilities from Veles and the Center for Youth Activism KRIK from Skopje each received MKD 125,000, while the Rehabilitation Institute for Children and Youth in Skopje received MKD 250,000. 

The event was attended by the Head of the Delegation of the European Union, David Geer, diplomats of EU Member States, Bulgarian Ambassador to Skopje and representatives of the NGOs that received donations from the bazaar.
