A regional conference under a BTA project called "Europe in the Balkans: А Common Future" will be held at the national news agency's press club here on Tuesday. BTA is implementing the project with the support of the European Commission.

The forum will be opened by Razgrad Regional Governor Vladimir Dimitrov at 10:30 am. To participate are Ragrad Mayor Dobrin Dobrev, Regional Information Centre head Julian Danailov, Ivelin Ivanov, Vice Principal of Sandor Petofi National Vocational Technical High School,  Svetlin Simeonov, head of a directorate at the regional administration, and Danaila Savova, head of a directorate at Loznitsa Municipality.

The project is aimed to help people get a better understanding of the role of cohesion policy, including in the Balkans; raise public awareness of projects funded by the EU through its cohesion policy; and promoting open dialogue about the results of the implementation of cohesion policy at the local level and civic engagement in related matters.

The Razgrad conference is the second in a discussion on the development of the North Central Planning Region. The first such conference was held in Ruse (on the Danube) last week. The next ones will take place in Veliko Tarnovo, Silistra, and Gabrovo.

The bigger project includes discussions that BTA will hold until August 2024 in: Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Vidin, Vratsa, Dobrich, Kazanlak, Kardzhali, Kyustendil, Lovech, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pernik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Samokov, Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Targovishte, Haskovo, Shumen and Yambol, as well as cross-border conferences in Belgrade, Bosilegrad, Bucharest, Adrianople, Skopje and Thessaloniki.
