Some 63,000 people in 60 localities in the county of Constanta, Romania, still have no electricity due to the heavy snowfall and strong blizzards that occurred there on Sunday, local authorities reported. There are also failures in water distribution networks in 45 localities.
Meteorologists have issued yellow and orange level warnings for blizzards in the southern part of the Banat Region, southwestern Transylvania and eastern Muntenia.
Heavy snowfall is expected in the mountains. Wind gusts will reach a speed of 75 km/h. Visibility will be reduced below 50 meters. Strong winds are also expected along the Romanian Black Sea coast.
Temperatures in the days around Christmas will be lower than usual.
