Greece reconfirmed its support for Bulgaria's full membership in the Schengen area during a meeting of the Minister of Interior, Kalin Stoyanov, with the Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum, Dimitris Keridis, Stoyanov's Ministry reported. "It remains a top national priority," Stoyanov said, expressing gratitude for Greece's consistent position.

The two government officials agreed that as migration challenges are common for Europe, common European answers are needed. They underlined the importance of the trilateral format Bulgaria - Greece - Turkiye in addressing the issues of illegal migration.

The meeting took place on the margins of the Justice and Home Affairs Council meeting in Brussels Thursday.
