The Foreign Ministry's Permanent Secretary Ivan Kondov Thursday met with Turkiye's Deputy Foreign Minister and Director for EU Affairs Mehmet Kemal Bozay, the Foreign Ministry said. Bozay was among the speakers at a EU Meets the Balkans forum in Sofia at the invitation of its organizers.

Kondov and Bozay reviewed the relations between Bulgaria and Turkiye, with an emphasis on active cooperation in the fight against illegal migration, border security, the economy and trade. They also exchanged views on issues of current relevance, including EU-Turkiye relations, the war in Ukraine, and the situation in the Middle East.
