King Abdullah II of Jordan sees Bulgaria as a pillar of strength in the region and a wise voice in NATO and the EU. He was speaking Thursday during an official visit to Sofia April 3-4 at the invitation of President Rumen Radev.
The strength of the cooperation between the two countries will help the cooperation between the Middle East and Europe, as well as overcome the challenges, King Abdullah II said.
The two heads of state held a private meeting at the presidency building, followed by plenary talks between the official delegations of the two countries.
During the second day of the visit, President Radev and King Abdullah II will host a high-level meeting in Sofia within the framework of the Aqaba Process initiative. At the invitation of the Bulgarian President and the King of Jordan, heads of state, representatives of governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations will discuss the security environment with a focus on the Balkans.
"Tomorrow, with the group of Balkan leaders, we will be able to discuss many of the challenges in order to develop cooperation between our countries and regions,” King Abdullah II said.
Earlier in the day, President Radev welcomed King Abdullah II of Jordan with an official ceremony at St. Alexander Nevsky Square in Sofia. The King paid tribute at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier.
