Funds under the upcoming second Energy Efficiency of Multi-Family Residential Buildings National Programme are secured through 2030, said Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Dora Yankova on Thursday. Yankova has been appointed to the head the Ministry's monitoring and reporting structure that will oversee the implementation of the first and second phase housing renewal projects under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).

The Deputy Minister reported that BGN 50 million is planned for 2025, BGN 200 million the following year, BGN 800 million is planned for 2027, BGN 800 million is also planned for 2028, and BGN 650 million for 2029.

Yankova is participating in the forum "Opportunities for the construction sector: Financing for energy efficiency, digitization and skills" that is taking place at Sofia's Inter Expo Center on Thursday. The event is part of the Architecture and Construction Week exhibition. Other participants include Toma Pavlov of the European Commission's Recovery and Resilience Task Force, Radan Kanev MEP from the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats), and others.

The Deputy Minister believes that the construction sector needs predictability in planning its financial resources. She said that there is also a need to have an energy efficiency and renovation centre that would unite the activities around the renovation of the country's building stock.
