Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) will organize an open discussion entitled "Being a Consumer - Rights and Responsibilities" at BTA's National Press Club in Sofia on Thursday at 11 a.m. The forum will focus on the most pressing issues related to online and retail shopping, the Commission said.
In an interview for BTA on March 15, World Consumer Rights Day, CCP Chair Maria Filipova said that first and foremost consumers have the right to informed choice.
Consumers also have the right to safe goods and services, which is ensured by the CCP in cooperation with other state bodies. They also have the right to protection against unfair commercial practices. In the increasingly widespread distance selling, consumers have the right to return the goods they purchased and to cancel the contract within 14 days without offering any feedback.
