New Residential Care Facilities for Adults with Mental Disorders to Be Built in NW Bulgaria

Labor and Social Policy Minister Borislav Gutsanov on Tuesday handed over to Shumen Mayor Prof Hristo Hristov a contract worth BGN 1.3 million for the construction of a residential care centre for adults with mental disorders in the village of Tsarev Brod, said the press centre of the municipal administration on Wednesday.

Under the project three new buildings are to be constructed for the residential care centre, with a capacity of 15 patients. After the completion of the project, the service must be maintained sustainably for at least five years, without the right to change the purpose of the buildings in the complex.

Shumen Municipality currently provides 27 social services and is working on four social projects, the Municipality said.

At the meeting on Wednesday, Borislav Gutsanov handed over several contracts for projects, which have been approved under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and are to be implemented by the municipalities of Shumen, Svishtov and Batak.
