In 2024, the National Child Helpline 116 111, operated by the State Agency for Child Protection (SACP), received 28,307 calls. Nearly 12,000 consultations were held, including 6,248 with children. The data show that boys are reaching out to counsellors more frequently. There were 2,453 reports of children at risk, SACP said on Tuesday.
The most common reasons for contact included difficulties with communication with adults and peers, challenges in making friends, personal issues, and feelings of isolation or being misunderstood.
Parental conflicts were among the key topics discussed with adults. They commonly seek advice on how to better connect with their children.
The National Child Helpline 116 111 is available around the clock, free of charge, and anonymously. As one of the fastest ways to report a child at risk, the helpline offers support and guidance to both children and parents.
Since January 1, 2025, an online chat service has been available every day from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The service can be accessed through the official website of the National Child Helpline.
