A photo exhibition at Sofia’s Earth and Man National Museum presents the bats of Vietnam to the Bulgarian public. It is on until January 16 and is organized by the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).

The exhibition takes visitors to the magical world of bats, which are key for biodiversity and an important component of Vietnam’s ecosystems, the organizers said. The event aims to popularize biodiversity research and the importance of bats for ecosystems.

The exhibition showcases research carried out under a joint project within the bilateral scientific cooperation agreement between BAS and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The head of the project on the Bulgarian side is Assoc. Prof. Heliana Dundarova, who is studying the Lyssavirus load in cave-dwelling bat communities in Vietnam and Bulgaria.

Also available within the exhibition is a photo album dedicated to the study of Vietnam’s bats and caves.

Entry to the temporary exhibition is with a ticket for the Earth and Man National Museum.
