Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov sent a letter to the National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova, in which he stated that to date the Prosecutor's Office has not received any information regarding the requests for immunity of three MPs, the state prosecution service sad Thursday.

The MPs in question are Jeyhan Ibryamov, Mario Rangelov and Lena Borislavova. Parliament was addressed with requests for the immunities on November 13 for Ibryamov, and on December 19 - for Rangelov and Borislavova.

In the letter, Sarafov draws attention to the fact that the Criminal Procedure Code establishes an obligation for the prosecutor and the investigating authorities to ensure that the pre-trial proceedings are conducted within the procedural deadlines set by the law. Another provision of the Criminal Procedure Code requires all measures to be taken in a timely manner to ensure a lawful investigation, the Prosecution service said.

Borislav Sarafov writes that he expects the National Assembly to provide information on the actions taken in relation to the requests submitted for authorization to institute criminal proceedings against the abovementioned MPs.
