The National Art Gallery will host an exhibition of works by Bulgarian painter and sculptor Lyuben Dimitrov (1904 – 2000) at Sofia's Kvadrat 500 between December 12, 2024, and May 15, 2025, the organizers said.
Dimitrov, one of the founding members of the Society of New Artists in 1931, created more than 60 pieces between 1929 and 1986 that encompass portraits, monuments and figural and decorative sculptural adornment of buildings.
Dimitrov's artwork can be seen in Sofia on banks, schools, ministries, libraries, theatres and more.
The exhibition will present seven easel works owned by the National Art Gallery, Sofia City Art Gallery, Kazanlak Art Gallery and the artist's estate. Some monumental sculptures will be presented as photographs.
