An orange warning code for heavy rain and snow has been issued for five regions in South Bulgaria on Sunday, said the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) on its website. The warning for heavy snow and rain is in force for the regions of Blagoevgrad, Kardzhali, Plovdiv and Smolyan, while a heavy rain warning is in effect for Haskovo Region.
A yellow warning code for intense rainfall has been issued for three regions on Sunday- Kyustendil, Pazardzhik and Sofia Region.
According to the NIMH forecast, the lows on Sunday will vary between 2C and 7C, and the highs be between 4C and 9C, slightly higher in the easternmost regions. In Sofia, temperatures will be without significant daily variation with lows of 3C and highs of 4C. Atmospheric pressure is slightly higher than average for the month and will remain without significant change.
On the Black Sea coast it will be cloudy, mainly along the southern coast with light rain showers. Highs: 10C to 12C.
In the mountains it will be cloudy with snow showers. Rain and snow expected below 1000 m. Strong easterly-southeasterly wind. Highs: 0C to minus 1C at 1,200 m and around minus 3C at 2,000 m above sea level.
