Over 1,000 participants from Bulgaria and abroad will take part in the three disciplines of the Burgas 2024 Half Marathon, which will be held on 24 November (Sunday). The route passes through some of the most interesting places in the seaside city.

The race is being held for the first time, and the organizers report great interest.

Details of the event were announced at a press conference by Anatoly Iliev, chief organizer of the marathon chain "Running - a way of life", Manol Todorov - deputy mayor of Burgas Municipality, and Plamen Nikolov - head of the local traffic police.

The patron of the first edition of the sports festival is the Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.

Each of the participants had the opportunity to choose in advance at their registration the discipline in which to compete. For this purpose, three options were offered - 21 kilometres, 10.5 km and 1 km. The three races will start in front of the building of Burgas Municipality. At 10:00 is the start of the half-marathon (21 km). At 10:10 the runners of the 10.5 km distance start, and at 10:15 the participants in the shortest distance of 1 km start. More than 150 children have signed up for it, which once again shows the great interest in the sporting event.

The Burgas 2024 Half Marathon will be supported by a number of athletes and public figures who will inspire and motivate all participants with their attendance and stories.

The total prize fund of the competition, which will be distributed among the best participants, is BGN 13,500. The organizers of the event have the ambition to establish it as a tradition and to move from a half-marathon to a marathon category.
