Anti-icing and snow clearing operations were carried out on the night between Wednesday and Thursday in Sofia. On the ground in the capital worked 171 snow-clearing machines, said the press center of Sofia Municipality early on Friday morning.

Sofia Municipality emergency teams responded to nearly 20 alerts for fallen branches and trees during the night. 

A total of 51 alerts were received via the common emergency telephone number for fallen branches and trees, metal fences on construction sites, etc. Emergency teams are still on the ground and will remove fallen branches in lawns and inter-block spaces during daylight hours.
