site.btaDemocratic Bulgaria to Not Support Any Candidate at National Assembly Chair Vote

Democratic Bulgaria (DB) will not support any of the candidates for National Assembly chair at the fourth vote on Wednesday, DB MP Nadezhda Yordanova said.

At the previous three votes, Democratic Bulgaria voted for Andrey Tsekov (Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria) but Continue the Change's (CC) Executive Council decided Monday to withdraw the nomination of Andrey Tsekov and to support the nomination of the oldest MP, Silvi Kirilov of There Is Such a People (TISP). CC co-leader Assen Vassilev said the decision was made in coordination with the party's coalition partner DB.

On Wednesday, CC co-leader Kiril Petkov stressed that the support for Kirillov will last as long as "we are sure that he supports the removal of Peevski's and Borissov's bludgeons". 

At the previous votes for National Assembly chair, Raya Nazaryan (GERB-UDF) and Tsekov came to a runoff but none won the necessary number of votes to be elected.
