Movement for Rights and Freedoms – New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski on Monday expressed his full support for the intention of the trade unions of Interior Ministry employees to go on stand-by for possible protests. In a position statement circulated by the party’s press office, Peevski said their parliamentary group will use all legal means to bring the National Assembly to carry out its own decision about raising the wages of Interior Ministry and Defence Ministry employees as of January 1.

“As leader of MRF-New Beginning, I hereby express the position of our parliamentary group for unconditional implementation of the resolution of the 50th National Assembly to increase the remuneration of the employees of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defence as of January 1, 2025,” Peevski stated.

He went on to comment: “I am very concerned about attempts at creating instability and tensions in society by provoking large social and occupational groups. It is unacceptable to postpone by half a year or a year the planned wage increase in the security sector.”
