The caretaker cabinet decided on Wednesday that "due to obsolete necessity" parts of property previously housing the National Revenue Agency, the Agency for Public Enterprises and Control and InvestBulgaria Agency shall be taken away and declared private state property. Two days later, some political parties accused the caretaker cabinet of relocating the three institutions to hand over the building to MRF - New Beginning.

The first to raise the topic was Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MP Bogdan Bogdanov, who stressed that "the entire Council of Ministers, in the last few days, instead of dealing with what is important to the people, such as waterlessness and retrofitting, and in particular the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, are serving [MRF - New Beginning leader] Mr Delyan Peevski to provide him with another building for MRF - New Beginning." He added that handing over the building to Peevski's party would be in violation of the law, as "in order for a party to receive property from the state, there must be a parliamentary group," and, in this case, there is still none.

Vazrazhdane insisted that the act of the caretaker government in favour of MRF - New Beginning be revoked, the party's press centre said Friday. According to Vazrazhdane, the purpose of this scheme was the seizure of the archive of the former Privatization Agency, which contains information on all privatization deals, most of which are related to the Peevski's companies.

The Ministry of Innovation and Growth said that the building does not provide adequate working conditions for the full and effective implementation of the goals and objectives of InvestBulgaria Agency. The Ministry's press release elaborated that it was for this reason that as early as the end of 2023, when the 2024 state budget was being adopted, BGN 5 million were secured to relocate the agency to a new building.
