Vazrazhdane has received the declaration of CC-DB for the formation of a cordon sanitaire (sanitary cordon) around MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski and his party. In response to that declaration, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov has sent two draft decisions with his party's conditions for reaching an agreement with CC-DB on this matter, the party's press service reported Monday.

The first draft decision in to hold a national referendum asking Bulgarians, "Do you agree that the Bulgarian lev should be the only official currency in Bulgaria until 2043?". Vazrazhdane pointed out that the referendum is a form of direct democracy, which gives the sovereign the opportunity to express itself as a guarantor of the basic democratic and constitutional principles.

The second draft decision is to oblige the future Council of Ministers to take the necessary actions to preserve jobs, coal mining and electricity production in the Maritsa East energy complex.

Last week, Kostadinov expressed doubts in the authenticity of CC-DB's proposed declaration since, in his words, the coalition governed with Peevski only five months ago. For this reason, he asked for a guarantee that the declaration would be backed by real actions "and not just another attempt for political PR, which the coalition mainly relies on". Kostadinov proposed that CC-DB sign the two draft decisions of Vazrazhdane on issues for which Peevski's position is clearly against.
