Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova received copies of the letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Bulgaria, Dao Vibulpanich, residing in Bucharest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release Monday.

The talks focused on this year's 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Thailand. Both countries showed their willingness to improve bilateral relations across many different areas. Trade, economic and investment exchanges, tourism, and collaboration in academic and research fields were listed as promising sectors.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of cooperation between Bulgaria and Thailand in multilateral formats such as the UN and the EU-ASEAN Strategic Partnership. Discussions included mutual support for candidacies in international organizations.
